Voris is definitely making a few enemies of those who don't like what he is saying. On the other hand, as someone who has posted many of his videos, I hope he stays arround for a long time to come.
Interesting that you should say that, Al. Some time ago at the Fox News website, I saw Voris and Raymond Arroyo (EWTN) on its informal webcast program. It was, apparently, the first time they spoke (Arroyo was hooked up via video link). I would not call them enemies, but I noticed a little competitive tension when the host introduced Arroyo to Voris. The former regularly has bishops and prominent Catholics on The World Over (a kind of back-slapping, "were in the know" relationship with them), whereas Voris (the new guy on the block with an attitude) is - let us just say - not so diplomatic with the bishops. Could be a SS. Peter versus Paul thing. I cannot form a determination at this time. It will be interesting to see how things play out.
I know Michael personally - not as a "good friend" but beyond "mere acquaintance". I've visited his studios in metro Detroit countless times and have had great conversations with him. His catechesis and apologetics is top-notch. He lives as he believes, and seeks not to make friends but to spread the truth.
He has been making some inroads with the AofD now that Archbishop Vigneron is leading, whereas before AV arrived, he was not welcome at all. That's not to say anything negative about Cardinal Maida - but the culture at the Chancery was not much different than what Michael says in this particular video.
In fact - about 3 years ago, our parish's mens group invited Michael as a guest speaker. Our pastor approved this, but when the chancery found out afterwards, they expressed their dissatisfaction with that decision. Thereafter, our pastor was much more diligent in vetting other speakers. We called it the "Michael Voris rule".
Support Michael if you can, either through RealCatholicTV.com (I think the annual membership is $10), or any of the DVD's from St Michael's Media. He's also available to make presentations at parishes throughout the US.
Oh - and he has this awesome sword that he uses as a prop for his "The One True Faith" show. It's the real deal.
Larry, thanks for taking the time to write a detailed comment. For some reason, I thought Voris was based out of California. I thought he was affiliated with the New Oxford Review, which is CA based.
I am not surprised at the opposition expressed by your chancery. I wonder if he gives talks north of the border? You know he's the real deal when he, as you said, "seeks not to make friends but to spread the truth." I will spread the word up here.
TH2 Not sure what would cause the tension. EWTN hasn't always let the Bishops off the hook either. & they have been on the same side with getting info out about the CCHD scandal. Could be just a personal thing.
Larry mentioned Voris' being less welcome before Archbishop Vigneron arrived. Let us not forget that Cardina Maida had as an auxiliary Bishop Gumbleton. & that Maida pretty much gave him free reign. I am willing to bet that Voris spoke up & thus earned yhe emnity og Gumbleton's amici in the chancery.
& if he does go up North, I suspect he will receive as warm a reception in some circles as Ann Coulter recently did. Including the HRC!!!!!
Well, if you insist, I'll bow to your professional wisdom.
But I would remind you that I work at a "Catholic" institution of higher learning. & that I have been "institutionalized" for 20 yrs as an employee plus 6 yrs as a student. So, he says with tongue firmly planted in cheek, if I have any sanity left it is only because I refuse to give into the insanity arround me. ;)
If there were a few Michael Voris type men in every parish the Catholic Church in America would be a different place. I've been watching Voris's stuff for awhile now and he's top notch, and uncompromizingly orthodox Catholic. I'm a huge fan

Excellent! Three cheers for him and three cheers for you! Also prayers, of course!
Thank you, sir. Ditto on the prayers.
Voris is one smart guy who cuts to the heart of the matter right away. Thanks for posting this.
Your welcome. It is good to see Voris'/RCTV's success and popularity in recent months.

The Church needs men like Voris! Jesus preaches meekness, not weakness.
You said it, Marco. Thanks for dropping by.

Email him. I just hope the Human Rights Commission doesn't arrest him! lol!
I will inquire. Good one on the HRC.

This guys should have a weekly show on EWTN.
I agree, Steve. That is a good idea.
Al: You said "...just a personal thing". Good point. What would Catholic blogging be without the acute insight of Al at "Is Anybody There?" ?
Probably a lot saner!!!! ;)
I beg to differ, sir.

Here here, Sanctus Belle.
My hope is that Voris/RCTV will become even more widely known than they are at present.
