DOMINION DAY DITTY
I often wonder how the song would sound if Neil had used a cowbell instead of a triangle at the beginning....More cowbell!!Happy Dominion Day to you and yours.p.s. did you get the DS9 reference?
Thanks again, Larry. Cowbells... interesting. Still, not "tingy" enough to emulate Morse Code.DS9 - Yup, missed it again. Is it because their Canadian actors?
Ah, Rush, maybe Canada's export ever. But, sadder still to watch Neil Peart's lyrics morph into those of a bitter old atheist than never to have known them (Spindrift and BU2B, for instance).
Agree wholeheartedly, Paul. The Snakes and Arrows album lyrics are especially dreadful. Like Malignant Narcissism, but because it is an instrumental. I tolerated the left-libertarian Ayn Rand stuff of the past, but this whole atheism shtick is, as you say, "sadder".
Happy Canada Day!Now, I'm off to watch Heritage Moments on Youtube...
Thank you, dear Lola. Happy 4th of July to you and your family.
I'm one of your ignorant neighbors to the South (Minneapolis), so I don't get it. But Happy Canada Day anyway, especially to my friends in Winnipeg!!
Robert: Thanks. You are not ignorant. Admittedly, my posting of the video is a play in esoterica. Rush is one of Canada's most famous bands. "YYZ" is the airport identifier for Pearson International Airport, Toronto's airport. The -.---.----.. at the beginning of the song is Morse code for YYZ. Yours truly is from Toronto.Happy 4th of July to you and Minneapolis.
What no Geddy Lee vocals???? Of course we all know the best recording he made wasn't with Rush. It was with Bob & Doug McKenzie http://youtu.be/1BFPt001PYUSeriously, hope that you had a great Dominion Day, eh!
Forgot about that, Al. Great song, eh. Still brings back many memories when I listen to it. Happy 4th to you.
Happy Dominion Day! I get two civic birthdays in a row. July 3rd is the birthday of Idaho (111 years old tomorrow!).
Cheers A. Happy 3rd-4th to you. Enjoy the break and have fun. But stay out of trouble. No bank robberies or convenience store hits this time. I have Idaho State police on my scanner, so I'll be listening in.
As you already know, I LOVE this! Happy Dominion Day to you, TH2!
But, of course, Fluffy. Used to know the bass line for it, but now have forgotten. Happy 4th.
Are you kidding? I'm far too clever to get caught. I just take the opposite of what my clients do and do that.
By the way, my math stinks and I'm apparently stuck at the dawn of the millenium. Idaho's age is 121.
Still, Idaho as a state is nearly as old as Canada. Confederation occurred in 1867.
Wow. That means that as a territory, Idaho is older than Canada. Abraham Lincoln created the Idaho Territory.
