30 January 2010

Certain historical developments are willed by the Lord of History, and they shall take place. Many others, mostly minor, that same Lord is willing.

- Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, Primate of Poland

It seems the good God has assigned the month of February 2010 to be a kind of "zero hour" for this wanna-be blogger. Workwise, things are growing in intensity. Voluminous report writing, data analysis, court testimony, late hours, unreasonable demands from clients, "and all the rest of it", to use that hallowed phrase of Belloc.

Hello mental exhaustion, good to see you again, my friend.

Accordingly, don't know if TH2 will be able to post much next month (not that there are regular and/or frequent posts here anyway!). Maybe I will post. Maybe not. Maybe I will comment on my favourite blogs. Maybe not. It will depend. Do not know. Likely, will only read. February will be a month of heightened focus and flux.

Remaining time will be devoted to Our Lord. Sundays will be a day of rest, of course, including spending time with my brother's family. The highlight - thank you God - will be hanging out with my niece (6) and nephew (5), with conversations that usually go something like this:

TH2's Niece: What are you making for dinner Uncle TH2?

TH2: Tonight we will be having sardine sandwiches, brussels sprouts topped with anchovies, and my famous "liver & onion delight".

TH2's Niece: [combined look of astonishment and puzzlement]

TH2: And for dessert, I will be serving broccoli-flavored ice cream.

TH2's Niece: [sternly] You're a mean guy, Uncle TH2.

TH2: You are correct, young lady. You arrrrrrrrreeee correct.

Maybe it is time to light a fire under Mr Scampers, the real slacker as it seems TH2 is doing all the work lately. ;)

TH2: how about a "best of" series? I really liked your takeoff on the Drudge Report.

Forgot 1 thing.

"broccoli-flavored ice cream"

Have you been watching Iron Chef America again????

TH2 said...

Anita: Thanks. Scampers was thinking about another installment of "The Scampers Report" in the future.

Al: Not "Iron Chef", but "Bizarre Foods" with Andrew Zimmern.

Given some of the bizzarre things the chefs put into the ice cream make on Iron Chef America it could be possible.
